Method 1: Recover photos from iPhone 4 directly

As long as your iPhone 4 can enter DFU mode, no matter how photos are lost or deleted, you can try Dr.Fone to recover photos from iPhone 4 directly.

Dr.Fone (for Windows users) is the first advanced data recovery tool for iOS devices. All data can be recovered either from iPhone/iPad/iPod or from its backup in iTunes. Its Mac version – Data Recovery for iTunes works to recover photos iPhone 4 from iTunes backup file.

Step 1 Connect iPhone 4 to a PC, and launch Dr.Fone. Do as the steps shown in “Recover from iOS Device” to enter iPhone DFU mode.

Step 2 Then Dr.Fone will automatically start scanning iPhone 4 for all data in it, including the deleted ones. You will see photos in “Camera Roll”.

Step 3 Select photos you want, and click “Recover” button to save them on computer. Then add them to itunes library and sync to your iPhone 4.

This is the simplest way to recover deleted photos iPhone 4. But the condition for success is that you did not use iPhone after photos were deleted, in order to prevent data overwriting.

Method 2: Recover photos from iPhone 5/4S/4/3GS/iPad/…from iTunes

If your iPhone 4 is lost, stolen or cannot enter DFU mode, then above tips are meaningless to you. You have to recover all iPhone data from iTunes backup which is created automatically when iTunes last synced your device.

Besides above mentioned Dr.Fone and Data Recovery for iTunes, many third-party iTunes backup extractors can be found on the internet, iBackup Explorer is one of them.
iBackup Explorer extracts photos, contacts, calendars, notes, SMS messages, iMessages, call logs, bookmarks and app data from the iTunes backup of your iPhone , iPod Touch and iPad, working on Windows and Mac.

Step 1: Choose iTunes backup and scan

When launching the program on your computer, choose “Recover from iTunes Backup File” option on the top.

Step 2: Recover deleted iPhone

Note: If you’re a Mac user, download Dr.Fone for Mac and follow the solution 2 to retrieve your deleted photos from iPhone.

1. Don’t sync your iPhone 4 with iTunes any more when you find photos lost, otherwise the backup file will be updated and you can’t get the lost photos back.

2. During scanning, Dr.Fone also searches for other kind of files, like contacts, messages, message attachments, call history, calendar, notes, reminders, voice memos and safari bookmark.

Note: Before you jailbreak iPhone 5,or update you iPhone 5 to more high iOS system, you must backup all iPhone data files to computer,so that all you important files never lost. For Windows users, you can use this iPhone-to-computer-transfer;if you use Mac,you can use this software named iMacsoft iPhone to Mac Transfer.
